Why can't we create a consolidated Ads Performance Report?

SOLVE

Hello Community,

I'm looking to create an Ads Performance report for my client and am quite surprised something this simple doesn't seem to be possible.
Or am i missing something?

I've managed to get this far:

But I need one report (Table) that shows:

Campaign name

Clicks

Impressions

Amount spent

Cost per click

And ideally, contacts created.

Is that too much to ask for?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Asif

Why can't we create a consolidated Ads Performance Report?

Hi @Asif  and thanks for the tag @BérangèreL,

The reason this issue arises is because "Cost Per Click" is not a standard property but rather a mathematical calculation performed in the background of certain reports. Unfortunately, this means it isn't readily available for reporting by default.

However, excluding the creation of contacts, there is a way to construct this with the limitation that your client must have access to Custom Reports and be enrolled in the Beta for Custom Report Formula Fields. More information on this feature can be found here. To enrol, navigate to your your account dropdown and select "Product Updates" as shown below.

Then, search for "Formula Fields now in Custom Report Builder" and select enrol. This feature grants users access to one free custom formula that can be utilised in reports. The aim is to use this feature to replicate the calculations that the default reports perform.

Assuming your client has access to these features, the next steps involve creating a Custom Report and selecting Ad Performance Metrics BETA as the Primary data source.

Choose the Chart type as a table, then drag in the following fields as mentioned:

Ad Campaign Name | Clicks | Impressions | Amount Spent

For the final property "Cost Per Click", we will create a custom formula as follows:

1. Select the "Create formula field" button, now found at the bottom left as shown below:

2. Title the new field "Cost Per Click".

3. Enter the formula, in this case

[e_ad_metrics_imported_v0.hs_ad_amount_spent] / [e_ad_metrics_imported_v0.hs_ad_clicks]

and select Next.

4. Select treat no value as zero and create the formula.

5. Drag the new field into the table.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions, please just let me know!
