UTM parameter includes dangerous pipe character which is blocked by firewall

The hsCtaTracking utm parameter we have been provided with includes a url encoded pipe (`|`, encoded as `%7C`) character, which is blocked by the popular NAXSI firewall because this can be used in urls to attack applications.
e.g. hsCtaTracking=XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXX%7CXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX.

Is it possible to generate a new hsCtaTracking parameter without a pipe character?

Many thanks

Hey @THopkins it's not possible to customise the CTA tracking code or change what characters it uses at the moment.

@kvlschaefer just wanted to tag you in on this though as it may be worth flagging with the web interactives/cta team!

UTM parameter includes dangerous pipe character which is blocked by firewall

Hi @TomM2 and @THopkins,

Thanks for flagging this with us! This does sound like strange behavior.

I'll reach out to our internal team to take a look into this, and provide an update here when I have one.

Thanks!

Best,
Kristen

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience while I was looking into this.

I wanted to provide an update from the team that overlooks this product:

The team evaluates the risks of doing this change which is high and at the moment the team don't have the capacity to work on this change.

I apologize for not being able to offer a more favorable response here, but I hope this helps clarify!

Best,

Kristen
