Store Historical Values of a Date Property

Hello,

Our team currently measures lead conversions by counting contacts that received a date stamp in a property called Recent Lead Conversion. This stamp is set when the contact has filled the relevant forms which are triggers in a workflow.

However,  the issue the team has is that when looking at historical data, this property is useless since it's being overwritten on every conversion. While the Create Date property does not face this issue, is not the relevant metric for us, since we care more about the recent conversion of a contact that potentially led to a deal in a period, than about the date when a contact was created, which could be ages ago.

If we focused on recently created contacts only, this would not be an issue, but since we heavily use inbound marketing strategies, we would lose a lot of the picture of our marketing team work by focusing only on new contacts.

Is there a way I can have a date property storing the value of all dates that have ever been in the property? I know using custom reports we can use a "has ever been" logic to filter, but that is not available for date properties.

I tried date stamping non-date properties, does not work. I also tried copying a value from a date property to a non-date property, and it does not work either. Even if these did work, however, I would not be able to navigate a report with them as dates, so it would only be a halfway solution. Another thing is exporting registers to google sheets and counting them there, but the conversion volume can get too large for that to be sustainable.

Alternatively, if there is a different way of solving this need I'm also interested. This is making the data analysis of our team very frustrating.

Thanks,

We have a similar issue. I need to validate this, but I think the Lead customization beta (Product Update 13931211) HubSpot released last week will allow us to use the native Leads functionality. It will require a rework of our process which is annoying, but an initial review makes it look like the effort to update our process will be worth it.

Hey @jjones41,

Are you able to provide us with more information on what is happening?  The more information, screenshots, and details you can provide, the better I can advise on the next steps.

Thank you,

Pam

Upvoting because this applies to us as well. In general, having a way to view and report on the historical values of a property would be extremely useful. Does anyone know any good third party integrations that do this?

Hello, would you be able to know if a solution that covers issue exists or if a workaround has been implemented by other users in a similar situation?
