Signals : what does 'exited' a visitor intent signal mean?
SOLVE
Hey there @idanc. Here's what I understand about it, mostly in regards to ABM and scoring/intent from a big picture. When we see the signal stating that a company has "exited" a visitor intent stage in HubSpot, it means the company no longer meets the criteria previously set for "intent" (such as page visits, engagement behaviors, or activity patterns you’re tracking). This is recorded and surfaced in the Signals view as an event to inform you of the change, even though it's not a positive (entered intent) signal—it simply marks a shift in intent status.
I think the idea is that the exit signal is meant to be valuable because it indicates a potential decrease in engagement or that the company is dropping out of an "active interest" status. This event provides context about their recent activity (or decline) and could help trigger re-engagement actions or alert your team that a prospect needs attention to prevent them from going cold.
HubSpot logs both entering and exiting intent signals for full visibility on engagement trends. Seeing an "exited" event helps explain why engagement scores or opportunity forecasts are changing and supports next-step planning.
So here's my two cents. It's not inherently negative. It's merely a status change. We can use these signals to fine-tune outreach or initiate workflows for re-engagement if desired. If companies repeatedly exit and re-enter, it could mean they are in a decision phase or wavering interest.
I hope that helps a bit!

Hi Shane,
Here are the screenshots. the bottom is from the SIgnals tab of Buyer Intent app, and the top is within the Signals tab of a drilled-into tracked company from the first screen.
I'd like to tag in some Community experts to see if they may have any thoughts for us here! @HFisher7, @OPerek-Clark, and @danmoyle - any insight on this messaging @idanc is experiencing?

I have not come across this signal as of yet, and I'm not seeing any specific mention of it in our knowledge base article on Buyer Intent. Are you seeing this messaging for only one company, or is there a trend of this within your BI signals?
