Problems with customizing already extisting reports

Hello! I have a big problem that I do not understand. I am building a dashboard for our marketing. My problem right now is that I can't customize an already existing report that I added. I tried to make a clone on an already existing report. But can't customize it... I know that it can be done on some reports, for example all the ready-made sales dashboards. Why doesn't it work on marketing related reports to customize them?

I have also tried to build the report myself. But the problem there is that, for example, when I need data on our various ads, I do not know what data point I should take in to see this. I am a beginner, so maybe stupid questions. But I'm stuck so I think I'll give it a try here.

Hi @EHarrysson,

Some reports simply don't allow for further customization, unfortunately. You're mentioning ads reports – those belong to the aforementioned. Also, if you're not on a Professional or Enterprise subscription, customization options will of course be limited.

Which reports exactly are you referring to?

Okay, Then I understand that not all reports can be customized.

What I’m specifically looking to do is create a report where we can compare the performance of our different campaigns. I want to build a bar chart that clearly shows which campaign generates the most contacts and, for example, how much we’re spending on each ad.

However, when I try to build the report from scratch, the campaign names don’t seem to appear as expected. I just found out now that it’s possible to create custom datasets—maybe that’s where I should build the values I want to include?

The report I found and wanted to customize is called Ad campaigns with cost per contact.

Do you have any tips on how I can proceed?

@EHarrysson without ads as a specific data source in the custom report builder, as far as I know, this report cannot be built in HubSpot. The only way (that I'm aware of) to access ad spend within HubSpot reports is through the default reports that you mentioned.
