Problem importing data into a Custom Object and the Contact Object

SOLVE

I am trying to import marketing form data from an export of submissions to a custom object

  1. I have created a custom object (called Marketing Forms) to track form activity
    1. Demos
    2. Webinars
    3. Ebook downloads
    4. Etc
  2. I created a many to many association between the custom object “Marketing Forms” and the Contact Object
  3. I created a "Common Key" Association Label: 1 to Many with Contacts
  4. From a specific Marketing Form (e.g. schedule a demo) I I exported all of the submissions
  5. Next, tried to import these to my Custom Object:
    1. One file
    2. Multiple objects
    3. Selected Contacts and the Custom Object (Marketing Forms)
    4. Selected the export from step 2 above
    5. I get the error: Marketing forms can’t be imported (see below)
      Please advise - Thanks!

Problem importing data into a Custom Object and the Contact Object

SOLVE

Hi @SColeman9,

Thank you for asking the Community!

It's great to have a screenshot, this helps a lot in understanding what's happening!

From what I can see, it seems that, for the custom object, there are compulsory properties that need to be added in the import and need to be mapped to be able to create a "marketing forms" custom object.
In your HubSpot account, can you try to manually create a "marketing form" and see which properties are required when you create a new object?

And all objects in HubSpot have a unique identifier, which is the "Record ID". So you will need to add "Record ID" to the import and import it as a "marketing forms" and select the HubSpot property "Record ID".

If you are importing existing objects that you want to edit, you will first need to export these objects (to get the Record IDs), then edit the file and then import (with the Record ID).

Here are some resources that might help you:

- Set up your import files
- Import records and activities
- Review and troubleshoot import errors

I'd like to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation:
Hi @danmoyle, @GeorgeBThomas and @Josh do you have suggestions to help @SColeman9, please?

If you are still seeing this behavior, I would recommend connecting with HubSpot Technical Support, as Support is included in your subscription and they will be able to provide real-time assistance for this matter, including hopping on a screenshare if necessary.

Thanks a lot and have a brilliant day!

Best,

Tanks for the tag @BérangèreL but this is what I would also say. Good info for @SColeman9 here.
