Network Conversion Data Inconsistencies

I'm trying to build a report that shows network conversions by ad group and having some trouble showing the sums in the custom report builder. In the Ads portal in HubSpot, I see LinkedIn campaign group name with zero network conversions, but when I click into that group name and go to LinkedIn campaigns, I see network conversions showing up.

Here's a screenshot of the LinkedIn Group:

And then here's what I see when I click into that group:

I would expect to see 20 somewhere in the LinkedIn Group data and in the totals down below or am I not understanding?

Thanks!

Network Conversion Data Inconsistencies

Hi @mdstrobe

Thank you and yes, of course! Let's invite some of our experts to the conversation 🙂 While I continue researching what could be the reason for this.

Hi @Jnix284, @danmoyle, @Aakar - Do you have any advice for @mdstrobe?

Thanks!

Diana

Thanks for the tag @DianaGomez. Hi @mdstrobe.  I'm going to check with some colleagues who help our clients with ads, and see if this is something they've solved for.

Will do, @mdstrobe. So far, nothing is coming up, unfortunately. But I'll share if I do find something.

Network Conversion Data Inconsistencies

Hi @mdstrobe,

Thank you for contacting the Community!

I'd like to clarify if the first and second images are sourced from:

1. Marketing - Ads
2. Marketing - Campaigns - LinkedIn Campaigns

I'm asking because these sections actually pertain to two distinct properties. The first, under the Ads tool, represents HubSpot events, while the second, from LinkedIn, defines a conversion specifically within LinkedIn.

If the data point that is reflected in your report is related to HubSpot ad events, it may show as 0 if you haven't configured any yet. In such a scenario, you will need to set them up by following these steps: Create and sync ad conversion events with your LinkedIn Ads account.

Let me know if this was the case and if not, please confirm which part (1 or 2) you took the screenshots from.

Thanks!

Diana

Network Conversion Data Inconsistencies

Hi @DianaGomez,

Thanks for the response. I don't believe so. The first screenshot is if I go to Marketing > Ads and then the second screenshot is if I click into one of the Ads on that screen.

So my understanding was that Marketing > Ads shows me all of my LinkedIn Campaign Groups and then I can click into the group to see the campaigns nested. The only problem is that we see Network Conversions for the campaigns, but it doesn't show up on the Campaign Group page.

I updated the screenshots in my original post to be more clear about where I see the inconsistencies.

Network Conversion Data Inconsistencies

Hi @mdstrobe

Thanks for the details!

Based on the images you are referencing, it seems you are pointing to section 1: Marketing - Ads.

This can be a bit confusing as the term "Conversions" is a bit like "Campaigns" in that it can be used in different places and have different meanings. What HubSpot refers to as Network Conversions that appear as a metric on the Ads Dashboard are specifically the Conversion actions that a Customer has set up within their Ad Network. Each Ad Network (like LinkedIn here) will allow Customers to set up specific actions that indicate that their Ad Campaign Goal has been met.

Hope this helps clarify!

Best,

Diana

That all makes sense @DianaGomez but I think what I'm saying is that the line at the bottom should equal the sum of the conversions in that column.

I feel like whatever is happening there is impacting our ability to build custom reports using the Ad Performance Metrics. I'm pulling over Ad Group Name, Impressions and Network Conversions and Network Conversions are all blank even though I see some in the previous screenshot in my original post.

Do you know if you can tag any others that might be more familiar with the custom reporting to get us what we need so we can report on it in a dashboard?
