Duplicates showing on advanced reports using multiple data sources (contacts, companies, deals)
SOLVE
I'm working with a client who uses 2-3 data sources on their custom dashboard reports (contacts, companies, deals) in order to pull in the fields/data they want. But the problem is, when they go to export, the report shows duplicate data. It doesn't appear that the duplicates are actually being shown on the graphs themselves, just the report details when you export.
Is it possible to remove duplicates here while still using multiple data sources?
I've had this a few times before. The recommendation I have is when you're selecting the properties to report on, make sure that you're selecting the properties for the right object.
I've seen Deals being shown as duplicates when I've added "Create date" as one of the properties or a filter. However, because there's a Create date on the Contact and the Deal objects, a mistake can happen. If you want to report based on the Deals, you need to make sure that you select the Deals Create Date. unfortunately, once the property has been selected, it's not easy to differentiate which source it comes from. If you select the Contact Create Date, you can easily have duplicate values if there are more than one contacts linked to a deal.

I am having a similar issue. Our report filter requires 3 different data sources (Contacts, Companies and Deals). However, I am only adding Contact properties to the table that I'm exporting.
The contact is duplicated in my export each time it's associated to more than one object type (e.g. Shows twice on the report if there's 2 contact associations).
I tried turning off "Show Record IDs" in the Chart Settings. However, they were still on my export and duplicating the contact rows.
I thought I could use Lists but that feature doesn't offer Custom Filter Rules like HubSpot reports.

Hi @elizheleva - I've been struggling with the same issue.
Our use case is that we need to show in a single report the following -All open deals so that sales team can prioritize and strategize
However, (this is where things get a little tricky) our management want to see in the same report all the original sources of the contact associated to the deal. Now, we all know that some deals would really have multiple contact associated with it. As a result, Hubspot natively displays the deal record in the custom report multiple times.
We already have implemented association labels in our deal records and mark primary contacts on deals.
Is there a way to rectify the report issue and make sure that it only shows; 1. Deal records ONLY ONES (both for deals with multiple contacts or single contact ONLY)? At the same time, show the original sources of the contact (multiple or single only on deal records)?
