Audio file/Podast metrics

SOLVE

Hi HubSpot Community,

For B2B marketers looks like online channels are going to be our daily staples for this year as well (at least in the UK!). We're ramping up Podcast production but finding it tricky to get a measure of how successful we are.

Does anybody have any tips for measuring engagement with audio files or Podcasts?

Looking if there is a way you can track metrics such as no. of plays and avg play time for Podcasts we embed on our web pages as audio files (pages are built on HubSpot CMS).

If there isn't a way to do this natively, are there any platforms that you'd recommend?

Thank you!

We do quite a bit of podcasting and have found the best way to track the audio is through using a podcast analytics tool such as Podtrac.

The benefit of using something like this is it will collate play information from embeds but also the different players (iTunes, SoundCloud etc).

You get great stats from it. Not just plays but popular countries, platforms, devices.

Hope that helps,

Rikki

So my question is does Hubpsot or another programs have average-time-spent metrics capabilities?

I sell podcasts to omy trade pub vendor paying clients. I feel this is the only metric that matters as to the successful reception of your audience. Anyone have a reply on this?

Hi Rikki,

Thanks for the info.

Using Podtrac, would the stats be visible and attributed to say a Hubspot user?

Hi @JPullan

Thank you for reaching out!

This is an interesting question, I'll tag a few experts to see if they have any idea how to do this.

Hi @rikkilear @AdamLPW @Bryantworks any thoughts about this?

Thanks

Sharon
