Hello,

How can I create a customer report for:

1. Contacts that are most engaged for each email sent for the year

2. Which emails performed the best this year

Audience and Performance report

SOLVE

Hi @VKnott4,

There are different ways to approach this.

To identify the most engaged contacts, you could simply filter for these contact properties (either in a table view or report of a filtered view with sorted columns).

  • Marketing emails delivered: the number of marketing emails delivered for the current email address.
  • Marketing emails bounced: the number of marketing emails sent from your account that hard or soft bounced (this does not include global bounces, that are bounces in any account in HubSpot's system for a permanent reason, such as an invalid recipient).
  • Marketing emails opened: the number of marketing emails opened. This value is incremented at most once per email so if the same email is opened multiple times, this value will only increase by one. Transactional email interactions do not count towards opens.
  • Marketing emails clicked: the number of marketing emails which have had link clicks. This value is incremented at most once per email so if the same link is clicked multiple times, or multiple links in the same email are clicked, this value will only increase by one. Transactional email interactions do not count towards clicks.

Alternatively, if you have access to lead scoring, you can create a contact engagement score and award points for each marketing email interaction: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/scoring/understand-the-lead-scoring-tool

Once the score is created, you can also create a filtered view and sort by who has the highest score.

Regarding your second question, you would leverage the custom report builder here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-reports-with-the-custom-report-builder

The data sources you'd need are 'Marketing emails' and 'Marketing email analytics'. Filter the report by analytics events from this year, then create a table view that shows the email name along with the metrics you want to display.

Without access to the custom report builder, you would follow these steps: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/analyze-your-marketing-email-campaign-performance

Have a look at the documentation and let me know if you're getting stuck and where.

Best regards!
