Ability to report on manual vs automated email activity from Sequences?

We would like to report on activity by BDR per month, which is easy enough. However, we'd like to go a bit more granular and distinguish between automated email activity (from a sequence, for example) vs manual email activity. Is there a way to do this out of the box, or has anyone built a way in their instance to do this?
