A/B form testing

SOLVE

Is there a way to do an A/B test on the amount of questions on a form? I only want to know if users prefer a form with 3 questions or with 7 questions. The form with 3 questions are the same first 3 questions on the form with 7 questions

Hi @CDegler

Indeed, you can't create A/B versions of a form, but you can put different forms on A/B versions of a page. HubSpot should ensure that an equal number of visitors see each page, so the submission rate of each form should directly comparable.

Hope this helps?

A/B form testing

Hi @CDegler,

HubSpot doesn't have options for A/B testing forms but for A/B testing landing pages. You can find the instructions here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/website-pages/run-an-a-b-test-on-your-page

This requires two things: First, you need to use HubSpot as your CMS. If you're using a different landing page builder, you need to check the options of that tool. Second, A/B testing landing pages requires a Marketing or CMS Hub Professional subscription.

Other users have already requested A/B tests for forms but the product team is currently not planning on working on this (as of February 2022). However, you can upvote this request and the product team might re-evaluate the request based on its popularity.

A/B form testing

Hi @CDegler

Forms themselves do not support A/B tests, yet, so I think you will have to create two separate forms (A and B) and present them via page variations, the compare the submission rate between them.

Hope this helps.

A/B form testing

Hi @Phil_Vallender,

Can you clarify when say that forms do not support A/B tests and to create two seperate forms as page variations? Are you saying that there isn't a way to currently test this except to post both variations in an A/B testing model an compare the submission rate? What do you recommend would be the most accurate way to test which form users prefer?

Thank you,

Chris
