Status Update! The Ideas Forum Gets a Refresh

Hi everyone!

I’m Hallie, a Program Manager on the Customer Experience Management team here at HubSpot. You may have seen me around the Ideas Forum recently, as I’m responsible for keeping the forum up to date and ensuring your feedback reaches the right product teams. I also share updates from those teams with you so we can keep the conversation going.

We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear: the Ideas Forum has a lot of potential, but inconsistent updates, especially on popular posts, can be frustrating! That’s why I’m taking a more active role in managing the forum and improving communication between you and our product teams.

The Ideas Forum is just one of several ways we gather insights to shape our roadmap, but it’s an important one. Our goal is to make it more transparent, more useful, and a better experience for everyone.

What’s Changing: Updated Statuses

One of the first improvements we’re making is updating how we define and use idea statuses. These new definitions are meant to be clearer and more transparent, so you know exactly what each status means.

Here’s a breakdown of the new statuses:

New Status

What It Means

Idea Submitted

A customer has shared this idea, and it’s open for voting and discussion. It hasn’t yet been actioned by the product team, but it’s being monitored.

In Development

This idea is actively being worked on. Keep voting and sharing your use cases because they help us build better solutions.

In Beta

This feature is currently in Beta. If it’s an open Beta, we’ll include info on how to join in the thread.

Delivered

The main goal of this idea has been built and released. If you still see room for improvement, feel free to submit a new idea.

Not Currently Planned

We’ve reviewed this idea and don’t have plans to develop it right now. That said, the conversation isn’t closed & your feedback still matters.

Alternative Solution

While we may not be building this directly, a workaround or integration is available. These are community-validated but not supported by HubSpot Support.

Why We Removed “Being Reviewed”

The old “Being Reviewed” status often caused confusion as it didn’t clearly indicate whether an idea was likely to move forward or not. We've removed it to bring more clarity. Posts that were previously marked as “Being Reviewed” will now be labeled as either:

  • Idea Submitted – being monitored, but not yet in development.
  • In Development – actively being worked on.

“Idea submitted” means we’ve received your idea and it will funnel into our larger feedback model, and you’ll continue to receive updates if progress is made.

To stay updated, please be sure to subscribe to your idea by clicking on the “Following” button (see screenshot below).

You can also “Subscribe” to the “Releases and Updates” board (see screenshot below) so that you are alerted when a new feature is out!

About the New “Alternative Solution” Status

We added this new status to acknowledge that, while some features may not be built by HubSpot, there are often solutions for the idea, whether that’s through existing tools, integrations, or with help from a developer.

If you see this status, it means a HubSpot team member has verified the alternative solution as a viable alternative at the time the status was changed. Please note that because it’s not a native feature, our Support team won’t be able to help troubleshoot these and that you’ll need to reach out to the third party or community member who shared it.

This is just the first step in improving the Ideas Forum. We’re committed to making it a more transparent and collaborative space, and we’ll continue to roll out changes to support that goal. I plan to add to this thread with updates from time to time to keep you all posted on the latest improvements. If you want to learn about everything that we’re doing, subscribe to “Release and Updates” as shared in the screenshot above.

Thanks for your feedback and for helping make HubSpot better. We’re excited to keep building with you!
