Require SSO to Log Into Your Account & Log in with SSO on Mobile

In today’s world, security is paramount. A great way for businesses to improve security is by setting up Single Sign-on (SSO). The idea behind SSO is simple: rather than having every one of your team members log into every one of your systems using different credentials, SSO gives team members one account to use across all systems. That means better security (fewer passwords to protect) and a more convenient end user experience (fewer passwords to remember). Plus, SSO providers have extra security benefits built in.

At Inbound 2018, we announced that HubSpot Enterprise accounts can now log into HubSpot using SSO.

But SSO is most effective when everyone on your team is using it. If users can bypass SSO and log in to HubSpot with a unique set of credentials, they miss out on the security and convenience of SSO.

With today’s update, you can now require that every login goes through SSO.

As an added bonus, the mobile app now supports SSO for login, so you can now take advantage the convenience and security of SSO on all devices, no matter where you are.

How does it work?

Head to your Account Defaults in Settings. There, under the usual "Single sign-on" options, you'll see a checkbox to require SSO for login. Upon checking that box, users on your hub will be asked to log in with SSO the next time they log into your account. You can also exempt specific users who may not have an account on your SSO provider (such as partners or contractors) from the SSO requirement, allowing them access while keeping your users with SSO accounts logging in with your preferred method.

On mobile, users logging in will now see a "Log in with SSO" button on the main login page on iOS and Android app, much like the button on desktop login. Clicking that button will take them to the SSO login page, where they can enter their email address & log in with their SSO provider.

This update is now live to all HubSpot Enterprise customers.
