[Public Beta] OneSignal Updates: In-App Messaging, Enhanced Matching, and Tag Edits

What is it?

This update to the OneSignal integration enables you to leverage Workflows to trigger in-app messages and pass HubSpot data to OneSignal tags, to use in segmentation and personalization. Contact matching between HubSpot and OneSignal can now be powered by any chosen Contact property.

You can also continue to set-up web or mobile push notifications as actions within your HubSpot Workflows, view push notifications on Contacts' activity timelines, and segment users in HubSpot based on reception of push notifications.

Why does it matter?

We want to help you craft engaging customer journeys that meet your customers where they already spend their time. Now, you can expand the reach of your campaigns by integrating HubSpot Workflows with OneSignal, a market leader for mobile and web messaging.

How does it work?

1. Install the integration from the HubSpot App Marketplace.

Users will need to enter your Application ID and API key from your OneSignal account. You can enter multiple IDs and keys in order to connect more than one OneSignal application.

2. Set-up HubSpot Contact <<>> OneSignal device matching

Choose to match HubSpot Contacts with OneSignal devices by either (a) Email address or (b) any chosen Contact property, matched with OneSignal's external_user_id property. Refer to knowledge base documentation for more details on matching.

3. Automate changes to OneSignal tags, which can power segmentation and/or trigger in-app messages

See OneSignal's guide for using tag edits to trigger in-app messaging.

4. Automate web and mobile app push notifications

Who Gets It?

Customers will need a OneSignal account and access to Workflows (HubSpot Professional and above) to use this integration.
