[Now Live] Sync Deals via Data Sync Integrations

What is it?

You can now sync HubSpot deals with 3rd-party apps through data sync integrations.

With this update, you can now sync contacts, companies, and deals two ways and in real time between HubSpot and dozens of apps.

Why does it matter?

In April, we launched data sync as a part of Operations Hub. Data sync is a new engine that powers dozens of new HubSpot-built integrations.

Connecting apps is great, but not all connections are created equal. When we launched data sync, it was useful, but incomplete: you could sync contacts, but not the companies they worked in or the deals they were associated with.

No longer.

With a recent update, you can now sync companies through data sync.

And with today's update, many of those HubSpot-built data sync integrations now sync deal info, too. With deal info fully in sync, you can do more powerful reporting, create more advanced workflows, build more targeted email campaigns, and more.

Deal sync solves an especially hairy integration problem. Deals are constantly changing, and are associated with myriad other CRM objects. With that in mind, there's no easy "workaround" for syncing deals between apps, like there might be for other objects (e.g. transferring contacts between systems using Excel).

Deal sync in data sync makes connecting deal data between apps easy, which enables a powerful use cases across hubs:

  • If you're a new HubSpot user, switch on data sync and see the contacts, companies, and deals from all your apps immediately come alive inside of HubSpot, with all associations in tact.
  • If you're a Marketing Hub user, sync HubSpot with another CRM to pass fresh leads to sales and report on deal data within HubSpot.
  • If you're a Service Hub user, use deal data to improve onboarding efficiency (e.g. create tickets when deals close) and prioritize or reroute issues for high-value prospects.
  • If you're a Sales Hub user, fully synchronize your sales processes across your CRMs (if you have multiple).
  • If you're a CMS Hub user, build smart content with up-to-date deal data, ensuring your audience sees the right message every time they're on your website.

How does it work?

Deal sync applies to most CRM apps powered by data sync: Netsuite, Dynamics, Outreach, SugarCRM, Zoho CRM, Zendesk Sell, Insightly, ActiveCampaign, Copper, Bullhorn, Close, Keap, Ontraport, FollowUpBoss, Freshsales Suite, and Connectwise Manage.

Please refer to this up to date list of JIRA items to determine which apps feature a deal object. As a rule of thumb, deal sync will be rolled out automatically for existing data sync apps that have a deal-like object. For any specific integration, scroll down to the "Shared Data" section of the marketplace listing to determine which objects and fields are included.

To set up a deal sync, connect an app from the data sync collection that supports the deal object. Deals include associations with companies and/or contacts. In setting up a deal sync, an accompanying sync of contacts and/or companies is required to ensure associated contacts/companies are created.

Please note that this deal sync does not yet include a sync of the deal owner property, nor does it include the ability to sync dropdown fields. It does enable deal stage mapping (deals need to sit in a mapped stage in order to sync).

As with any other sync, it is important to either review field mappings (in the free tier) or to customize them (Operations Hub Starter). Properties that are linked to the deal can be set up in a custom field mapping. Other objects that are in turn associated to a deal (products, quotes, etc.) are not yet part of this sync.
