Navigating the Transition: Migrating from Legacy Scoring to HubSpot's New Lead & Health Scoring Apps

Important Changes Coming to HubSpot Scoring

Are you currently using HubSpot's legacy scoring tool? If so, you'll need to take action soon. HubSpot is sunsetting the old scoring system, with three critical deadlines approaching:

  • May 1, 2025: Starting this date, you will no longer be able to create new score properties using the old scoring tool.
  • July 1, 2025: Starting this date, you will no longer be able to edit existing score properties using the old scoring tool.
  • August 31, 2025: This is when the old score properties will stop updating completely and will be sunset

This transition is necessary as HubSpot moves toward more powerful and flexible scoring capabilities. The new Lead Scoring and Health Scoring apps offer enhanced functionality that better aligns with how modern businesses qualify prospects and nurture customer relationships.

Compared to the old scoring tool, the new Lead Scoring app (available for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise accounts) now supports:

  • Scoring Objects: Contacts and Companies
  • Fit and Engagement Scores
  • Threshold Property
  • Advanced Functionality
    • Advanced Association
    • Custom Event Scoring
    • Decay, Recency, Frequency (launching soon)
    • Incremental Scoring
    • Score History and Distribution
    • List Exclusion
    • Reset Scores to Zero

Lead Scoring (Marketing Hub Enterprise accounts only) now supports:

  • Combined Scores
  • Combined Threshold Properties
  • AI Scores

Health Scoring app (Service Hub Professional and Enterprise accounts) now supports:

  • Scoring Object: Object used to represent customers in the CS Workspace
  • Combined Score (Fit and Engagement)
  • Custom Events: Usage Data can be included (Amplitude, Pendo, Segment)
  • No AI Scores
  • Advanced Functionality (same as above for Lead Scoring)
  • Threshold Property (same as above for Lead Scoring)

However the migration process isn't automatic – you'll need to recreate your existing scoring models in the new system. While this might initially seem like an inconvenience, it's actually an opportunity to refine your scoring approach using the new tools' advanced features.

What to Expect in Our Demo

Our comprehensive demo will walk you through:

  1. Understanding the fundamental differences between the old and new scoring
  2. Step-by-step migration instructions for recreating your existing scores
  3. Solutions for common pain points during migration
  4. Testing and validation strategies to ensure your new scoring models work as intended
  5. Best practices for aligning your new scoring approach with your sales processes

Don't wait until the last minute to make this crucial transition. The sooner you migrate, the more time you'll have to optimize your new scoring models and ensure they're working effectively before the old system stops updating.
