[Live] Connect an existing Stripe account to Commerce Hub with OAuth
What is it?
We want it to be easy to sign up for Commerce Hub, especially if customers already have a Stripe account. With OAuth connect, customers can seamlessly connect their existing Stripe account when signing up for the new Stripe payment processing.
Why does it matter?
Previously, customers that signed up for the new Stripe payment processing were required to create a new Stripe account which caused confusion and friction in the onboarding process.
Customers can now use OAuth, a common authorization framework, to connect their Stripe account when signing up for the new Stripe payment processing. All Commerce Hub transactions will now sync with their existing account, ensuring important financial data is in one place.
How does it work?
New customers that sign up for the new Stripe payment processing will automatically receive the OAuth connect experience. To connect an existing Stripe account, customers must first login to Stripe and then can select from any of their existing accounts.
Important: Existing customers already using the new Stripe payment processing cannot switch their connected account at this time. This capability will be released soon.
