Two factor authentication logout loop

Hi All,

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.  I have been using hubspot with sales hub integration for outlook, mostly without problems for 2+ years. In the last few weeks, it started logging out multiple times in a day.

As of this morning, it was continuous.  I noticed that I was getting loggin attempt emails sent to my email box, which I interpreted as another app that has forced two factor authentication. From this I enabled two factor connected to my mobile. Now when I press login, in outlook, desktop and browser, it logs in, I authorise it and I get brought back to the login screen to repeat the process. Hubspot is now only accessible on my mobile, with all others locked behind a login loop. Has anyone else had something similar.

For anyone else that gets caught in this, I removed the 3rd party access from google, unlinking hubspot from Calendar etc. and then after that, I could login to hubspot under the normal login methodology. Hubspot is now no longer linked, but I guess i can at least track emails again, and spin up contacts straight from outlook.

For anyone else that gets caught in this, I removed the 3rd party access from google, unlinking hubspot from Calendar etc. and then after that, I could login to hubspot under the normal login methodology. Hubspot is now no longer linked, but I guess i can at least track emails again, and spin up contacts straight from outlook.

@LSykes8 it's not exactly the same, but I've noticed lately that signing into HubSpot (my portal and also the Community) has been a bit finicky. In fact I was putting projects into client portals recently and kept getting stuck in a similar sign-in loop. I asked Support for help, and while it took a little time, they were able to help me. Definitely check what @kvlschaefer shared, but I'd also go to Support. Good luck!

Would you be able to please share how you are trying to login to your account from Outlook?

Are you logging in using the Google Sign In method or the standard username and password method? 

Have you tried out the steps in this help article on logging into your account?

Hi Kristen,

Somehow I can now log back in via the browser, which only happened after I removed the pathways I added from one of the hubspot articles to do with trusted sites and lower security settings. For the outlook integrations they're still caught in this. I can try logging in from the windows tray, or from inside outlook with the greyed out icon, I click to login with a google account, which I've always had to do, and the moment it logs in, I get the little screen with the baloons and the 3 buttons that shows info email tracking etc, and then my phone pings to verify and in that 1 seoncd I get kicked out. I've added a second none google server email address to my account now to see if I can get around it that way.

Thank you for your the detailed response! I'm glad to hear that you were able to login via your browswer. 

 

Regarding the Outlook Integration, can please you try to sign in via the standard and enter your HubSpot username and password instead of logging in with a Google Account?

So this seems a little daft, but where would I find that? I can see the 7 digit number identifying my organization, but I can't see another identifier for me. I've been through the online things, going through Properties and tracking down the owner, but that is listed as my google email address.

 

I've tried rolling back 2FA, and I still have the issue which started all of this, which is getting pointless emails to verify the device that I've logged in 1 millions times before on, but is now suspicous.
