Outlook 2016 not syncing - university email system

I've just joined HubSpot CRM (free). I'm on Outlook 2016 via the university email system. I tried to sync 1) took me to a Microsoft page - entered ID & password for Outlook - dialog: "We don't recognize this user ID or password"

2) Downloaded setup.exe  Dialog error: The value of the Property type cannot be Parsed". Couldn't load file..."

I called our IT and they said it's not Office 365 cloud system and to ask you if HubSpot syncs with Outlook 2016. 

I'm trying this CRM out to see if it works but if can't even integrate email, this may not work for us. Appreciate steps to resolving. Thank you.

Hi @reevesa! Thanks for your post.

 

HubSpot only syncs with GSuite or Office 365, therefore, without either of those, you will not be able to set up the two way integration.

 

You can use your forwarding/bcc address (What is the difference between my BCC address and my Forwarding address?) in order to log emails in the CRM as a workaround!

HubSpot only syncs with GSuite or Office 365, therefore, without either of those, you will not be able to set up the two way integration.
