Not Receiving Verification Code Emails (SPF/MX Configured, Other HubSpot Emails Arriving)
SOLVE
Hi all, I’m trying to verify my Google Workspace email address within HubSpot, but I am not receiving the verification code emails, even though I amreceiving other emails from HubSpot (such as inbox disconnection alerts).
Here’s what I’ve already confirmed:
My SPFand MXrecords are properly configured for Google Workspace
My domain is receiving HubSpot messagessuccessfully (just not the code)
I’ve searched using in:anywhere and checked Spam, Promotions, Updates, and All Mail
I’ve added the recommended emails (no-reply@hubspot.com,security@hubspot.com, etc.) to my email contacts
I’ve tried from multiple browsers and devices, cleared cache, and used incognito
I’ve removed and re-added the inbox connection
I’ve reviewed Gmail’s Email Log Search — no verification emails were delivered or blocked
At this point, I'm wondering if:
My email address has been suppressedby HubSpot internally
The verification code email is being throttledor never triggered at all
Since I’m on a free/low-tier HubSpot plan, I don’t have access to direct support, and would appreciate any guidance or escalation help here.
I think I get what you are saying, so lets break it down.
1. First open Settings → Notifications and toggle Global email ON just to be sure your user is subscribed to verification messages; HubSpot can’t deliver what you’ve opted out of (HubSpot Knowledge Base )
2. Head back to Gmail Admin and add every address in HubSpot’s allow‑list (noreply@hubspot.com, noreply@notifications.hubspot.com, etc.) plus hubspotemail.net and the sending IPs to your domain‑level approved senders—this bypasses Google’s greylisting and silent spam filtering.
3. Run another Email Log Search for a wider window (past 24 h) and filter by “Subject contains: HubSpot Verification” to confirm Google truly never saw the message; if it’s missing there, the block is happening on HubSpot’s side, not Gmail.
4. In HubSpot, add your own address as a contact, open the record, and check the Email hard bounce reason property—if you see “global bounce” or “recipient suppressed,” click More → Unbounce to clear it HubSpot Knowledge Base
5. Now go to Settings → Users & Teams, hover your user row, choose Resend verification email; HubSpot generates a fresh code immediately, most users see it within 60 seconds
6. If nothing arrives, try sending the code to a plus‑alias on the same domain ( rmckenzie+hs@thefirelightcollective.org); this forces a new message ID and sometimes slips past hidden throttling rules on Google’s side.
7. Still stuck? Use the Help button in‑app, choose Chat → Technical Support and mention “possible internal suppression on user rmckenzie@thefirelightcollective.org” so the deliverability team can lift it—even free‑tier accounts can request an unbounce for system emails.
8. Finally, once the verification comes through, circle back here and tag any helpers so we all know the fix; big thanks to everyone in the thread for surfacing edge cases like this.

Not Receiving Verification Code Emails (SPF/MX Configured, Other HubSpot Emails Arriving)
SOLVE
Thank you! This is EXTREMELY frustrating because i tried all of the things you mentioned and am still unsuccessful. It is asking for a code every. single. time. (even though I click on "remember me" every time) and still not delivering them anyway. I was successful in receiving a code one time through an Incognito window, but that's it. Now it has stopped delivering them again and I can't get in at all. I've cleared my cache, cookies, browsing data, etc. and tried all the steps you, ChatGPT or I can think to fix it and I am left still at square one.
1) Complete (though there is no "global email ON" option in my current platform
2) Complete
3) Complete: no results found
4) Complete: sent a test email and it was successfully delivered so no bounce/block issues. I am receiving other Hubspot emails just fine but the verification emails are not delivered still
5) Complete: no email was delivered.
6) Complete: it required me to sign up for a new gmail account AND hubspot account with the alias email and still didn't deliver anything.
7) I attempted to use this, but the chatbot kept sending me back to knowledge base or suggesting I reach out to customer support which is not included in my free account. We are a non-profit organization and can't afford an upgrade but it is distressing that this is so complicated and taking so much time. I have no idea what could possibly be the issue at this point.
