Does a Lead field carry to identical Deal field

SOLVE

Hi All,

If we enter leads with a field for the size of the home (Home Sq ft.). If we have that same field in Deals will that data move over automatically when we create a Deal?

For instance, lead comes in on a 6,500 sq ft. home. A couple weeks later they create a deal for that location. Will they have reenter that sq ft. data again in the Deal.

Can someone move this to the correct Thread.

Q: If we have that same field in Deals will that data move over automatically when we create a [new] Deal??

Short A: n/a

Longer A:

Yes, but only if you use a workflow to create the NEW deal and handle the transfer of data within the workflow.

Otherwise, no. If you create the deal manually you'll need to either copy the data manually, or use a modified solution similar to the following ...

- see How To Copy Deal Properties to Contacts, Companies ...

Thanks Frank.

So if we capture a lead that includes a "Home Size Sq ft." and "Home Value", does this go under contact, company..where?

when we create a Deal we will need to have those identical fields in "Deal" so we will have to manually enter the information. Correct?

Hey @Zavap,

>>So if we capture a lead that includes a "Home Size Sq ft." and "Home Value", does this go under contact, company..where?

Leads = Contacts, so you'll see your 'Home Size Sq ft.' data in the contact record for your lead.

>>When we create a Deal we will need to have those identical fields in "Deal" so we will have to manually enter the information. Correct?

Correct. You'll need to manyally copy the info unless you setup a workflow to auto-create a new deal each time. (recommended)
