Cannot connect personal inbox, error message says mailbox already connected as a shared mailbox

Hi all,
We use Office 365 and the error message says "Email address is already connected as a shared inbox. This inbox must be removed before connecting as a personal inbox.
SHARED_INBOX_INVALID_DOWNGRADE"
I connected my personal inbox years ago during testing while we were integrating HubSpot, now i need to track my emails and use templates in sequences.
Do i need to remove myself as a user and re-add myself or is there another way without losing all my current data?
