A Troubleshooters Guide to Screen Recording for Android
When it comes to troubleshooting, having the ability to directly show someone an issue first hand can turn hours of head scratching into an instant resolution. This guide will walk you through creating screen recordings by using the free screen recording app called "Mobizen"*.
By using Mobizen, we can greatly improve the way that we troubleshoot Mobile-based issues by having direct visual examples of App crashes, slowness, scrolling, email design, etc. This post will walk you through the basic steps to take when gathering a screen recording.
Downloading Mobizen
Here are the basic steps for downloading Mobizen:
There are a few different versions, but the one simply labeled "Mobizen" will be universal for all Android devices.
Opening Mobizen
After opening the Mobizen app, the user will see what is called an "Overlay App".
Look for the Mobizen "M" logo in a circle to the right-hand side. This is a shortcut for using the app.
Starting a Screen Record
You can now start using your "Screen Record" function by clicking on the Mobizen "M".
Click on the "Video" button to start a record.
Your screen recording will then begin after a 3 second count down.
After capturing the mobile error/bug, end the recording by tapping the Mobizen "M" again, then press the STOP.
Closing the App After capturing your video, you can then close the app!
To close the app, press and hold down the Mobizen "M". You will then be able to dragthe app onto the white circle with the red "X". This will close Mobizen!
Success! You will now now have a video of your issue! From here, your recording will be saved to your device's "Videos" and ready to share!
*Note: HubSpot is not associated with Mobizen. This application is being suggested as an external application to assist in troubleshooting issues that may arise within the HubSpot mobile app, however HubSpot does not support the Mobizen application. If you have other applications that you prefer for screen recordings, please feel free to use those.
