updating hubspot contacts when someone unsbscribes through mailchimp
SOLVE
Our organization is perfectly content with a 2000/mo email limit most of the time, but for a few times a year when we are updating all our followers with some organizational newsletters. The mailchimp integration should handle this just fine, however, I want to make sure that if someone unsubscribes from the mailchimp newsletter, we maintain their wishes within our hubspot records.
I found one previous post about this from several years ago and wanted to clarify. If someone unsubscribes on mailchimp, do I need to manually update their subcription choices in hubspot?
It's not directly possible, what we usually recommend to do is to export your contacts from Mailchimp into a filtered spreadsheet file that contains only unsubscribed addresses, then import that file into HubSpot as an opt-out list as described more in this article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/import-an-opt-out-list. This will automatically unsubscribe those email addresses in HubSpot.
