Whatsapp Migration

SOLVE

Hi there,

My company is a pretty new user to HubSpot and we are looking forward to transitioning our WhatsApp Business number to HubSpot WhatsApp.

I read that someone had an issue after making a transition from Twilio and is worried that the same issue will happen for us. In the reply, it was mentioned that "it's impossible to migrate a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) that was created through one Business Service Provider (Twilio) to another (HubSpot). " Is this true?

We had our WABA created through Sleekflow and is worried that migrating will fail.
We heavily rely on WhatsApp for our customer service team and a downtime will affect operations severely.

Does anyone has any prerequisite that I can do or check before I proceed with the migration? Thanks in advance!

Hi @SNgDD and welcome to the Community. May I ask - why do you need to transistion the number? If the number exists, you can connect the WABA as a channel in HubSpot

I don't see anywhere in that article where you have to transition per se. I do see this note: The phone number you use must not be connected to another WhatsApp account, WhatsApp for Business App, or another WhatsApp integration. If the number is already associated with another WhatsApp account, you must first disconnect it before connecting it to HubSpot.

Would that solve what you're asking? It's just a matter of connecting it from what I can see.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your reply! We will definitely need to remove the number association with the other Whatsapp Account before linking it up with HubSpot.

Thank you for clarifying! Will reach out if there are an issues with the connection.
