Sync Question Between Salesforce and HubSpot Marketing HUB About Lead Deletion

lösung

Any advice if it is better to create a rule in the HubSpot Salesforce integration so that when you delete a lead in Salesforce, it deletes a lead in HubSpot automatically or better to have HubSpot do nothing when you delete a lead in Salesforce.  We are getting some junk leads in Salesforce and they are being deleted in SF but not in HubSpot but we are still paying for them as a marketing contact. We could probably set them to a non-marketing contact, but also if we delete in both then we don't get attribution for the lead in HubSpot etc. I think there are pros and cons to both, but curious how people are handling this? We have the professional version of HS.

Hi @VanessaLeida,

You can specify this in the integration settings under Settings > Integrations > Connected apps > Salesforce:

Generally, I would say that if you consider it junk (fake entries, made-up entries, spam entries), it should be deleted. There's no point in keeping this kind of information.

If it's a contact that is disqualified but needs to be nurtured, that's a different story. It really depends on the definition of 'junk'. In that case, it would make sense to come up with a strategy on how to either work these contacts - or whether you still consider them worthless. In the latter case, I don't think it makes sense to keep contacts just for the sake of reporting. Under GDPR, for example, records need to be removed if they're not needed anymore which would be the case for fully disqualified contacts.

Best regards!
