The field "message" is a standard field type. It is now synced to the field "Contact description" in Salesforce. As it is a standard field I am not able to change it to the respective Salesforce field "Hubspot message". Would we need to adapt all forms to use a custom message field to sync to another field in Salesforce? Any other quicker idea? Thanks!
Thanks for your input, Ben! I agree, contact description is not the right field for message. But it is the standard mapping constellation in Hubspot and I cant change it as message is a standard field. We have a dedicated Hubspot message field in Salesforce but I am not able to map "message" (in Hubspot) to "Hubspot message" (in Salesforce). Was wondering if there is an easy workaround to achieve this.
Yes, thought so too, but was not sure about the workload to adapt all forms. Just got the hint to use a workflow to add all contacts where the old standard field was filled out, copy these to the new custom field and then sync that new custom field to Salesforce. Sounds reasonable.
I don't know if the contact description in Salesforce is the right field for a message. You could try to attach to the notes object with the message, or send it to a message field on Salesforce where you have Field History enabled for that way when a new submission comes in and the value is overwritten, you still retain a history of the field data.
