Salesforce Duplicate Lead Created Becauase of Multiple Emails

My Hubspot instance is synced up to my Salesforce instance. Normally, if a Contact has a single email address, Hubspot creates a single record for the Contact as a Lead. If a Contact in Hubspot has multiple email addresses (under the Email field), however, Hubspot creates multiple Lead records for each email address, even though there is only one Contact in Hubspot:
How is it possible to avoid this? Since Hubspot only uses the primary email address for most of its actions (e.g export a list) I'm unable to update the 'Second Email Address' property on a Hubspot contact to match a non-primary email address.
