Hubspot/MailChimp - Sync unsubscribes & lists

Apparently, it used to be a feature but it's since been removed.

It should be standard that unsubscribed are sync'd between the two platforms and additionally, if you sync audiences from MailChimp, you should be able to create lists based on these.

If someone unsubscribed from you in one platform, you'd want to be able to stop sending them emails in the other platform without the need for a third party platform.

We are trying to determine how we can best manage unsubscribes between MailChimp and HubSpot. We send out emails from both tools and want to make sure when someone requests that we unsubscribe them from one that we also remove them from the other tool. Adding this functionality to HubSpot will help ensure a company's email integrity with managing unsubscribes and having to manually double up on work.

Hello @Geordie When using this integration, contacts can only be synced from HubSpot to Mailchimp and not vice versa.

If you require a two-way sync of information between HubSpot and Mailchimp, learn more about using HubSpot's data sync instead.

Hi Pam,

This integration actually is a two-way sync. There seems to be 2 MailChimp apps in the marketplace, both named the same but both doing very different things. This is the 2-way sync - https://ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/apps/marketing/email/mailchimp-data-sync

You can sync contacts between the 2 which is perfect, it's just that it won't sync unsubscribes and you can sync an audience from MailChimp but if you have multiple audiences, it doesn't sync any defining property into Hubspot so you can't then create a list based on those audiences.
I've read in other places that it used to be a feature when the piesync functionality was in use but it's since changed in 2022 and you can no longer do those things.
