I have been made an admin on a client's free HubSpot account.
I have added the Mailchimp integration to the account.
I have created a standard HubSpot form and placed it on client's website.
Form submissions generate contacts in Hubspot but contact information is not pushed to MailChimp.
Is this because the HubSpot account is the free version? Or is this because the form is a standard HubSpot form and not a pop-up or non-HubSpot form (as per this article)? Or something else?
The HubSpot : MailChimp integration only covers non HubSpot forms and pop up forms. In order to sync contacts from native HubSpot forms over to Mailchimp you can use one of the following integrations:

I'm on day 3 of setting up HubSpot for evaluation.
I have to say I'm pretty dissappointed in the implementation of HubSpot's buit-in forms and the integration with MailChimp:
You can't use custom properties for deals, companies or tickets in your own forms and the setup documentation fails to mention it when it's talling you to make sure you setup your custom properties under the correct tab. **bleep**
Your own native forms don't sync with MailChimp, but I can use any number of 3rd party form generators or write some HTML and those forms will sync with MailChimp.
There are MailChimp related posts on your forums where you recommend a $50 - $400 a month solution from you guys to replace a $10 - $15/month feature from MailChimp.
Thanks for the response Jenny. While I'm slightly perplexed why the integration would cover only specific types of forms (and not the "basic" standard Hubspot form) I appreaciate your response.
I went ahead and created a Zapier integration and it's all working fine now. Many thanks,
I agree! We don't use pop up forms on purpose but still need emails integrated with our Mailchimp account. I don't understand why only 1 type of form would work for this, especially if the only data integrating with Mailchimp is the email and name.
I second this frustration. Don't you have to pay an additional fee for a Zapier integration.
I for the life of me can't understand why it works for non-Hubspot forms and pop-ups only. We use Wix for our website, which is another annoying complication.
