Feedback on HS and GoToWebinar Integration

SOLVE

For those who have utilized the HS and GTW integration, how much of the integration have you utilized? If you've tried to run everything through HS, what have been the shortcomings?

We have a webinar coming up and wanted some general feedback on whether to set the registration up HubSpot or use GTW mostly and just keep a record of the registrants' names in HS.

Feedback on HS and GoToWebinar Integration

SOLVE

Hi @Svet222

We've used the integration fairly extensively, so I'll share my thoughts.

Gotowebinar is a good platform for running webinars, not so much for marketing them.

My recommendation is that, as a minimum, you need in HubSpot:

  • A landing page to replace the gotowebinar registeation page - use a HubSpot form to regsiter conversion in the correct webinar using the integration settings
  • Pre-webinar emails and workflow - send emails to your contacts from HubSpot, not Gotowebainr, to control the appearance and to direct people to the correct landing page.

Ideally, you would also replace the post-registration confirmation and reminders in HubSpot, but at a push you can get away with the default Gotowebinar ones and this can be a helpful time save.

After the webinar, the intergration enables you to create lists of those who attended and those who didnt. Use these for post-event marketing, again operated out of HubSpot.

Hope this helps.

The integration is only useful if you are creating the landing page on HubSpot itself.

However, if you are embedding your HubSpot form on an external page you need to add a line of code to the form code.

We created our landing page on Wordpress and use HubSpot form. In order to send the registrants to GTW, we had to create a zap in Zapier.

Do you mind elaborating on this? Why would a form on an external page not be able to use the GoToWebinar integration?

The native integration doesn't work if you are using an embedded form on an external page. You have to add a snippet of code to connect the two systems which might not always be feasible!
