Emails in Promotions

resolver

Hello,

How can I avoid sending emails in the Promotions tab.

I linked my domain, not using promotional language in subject line and body but still does not work. Everything is sent in the Promotions tab, including welcome mails.

Can you give me some technical recommendations about it? 😊

Thank you in advance.

Hi @ZKvinikadze,

Unfortunately there isn't a quick fix, Gmail is scanning and categorizing these emails for you. Using an email marketing software can be reason enough to be sorted into the Promotions tab according to this post: https://www.saleshandy.com/blog/avoid-gmail-promotions-tab/

From a technical standpoint, it's best to set up DMARC, see here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/can-i-use-a-dmarc-policy-with-hubspot It's an authentification protocol which increases your "trustworthiness" to email service providers.

On top of that, you can improve your chances of landing in the primary inbox by avoiding graymail – emails that are delivered but not opened by your recipients. One way to do that is to suppress unengaged contacts in the Send or schedule tab of your email. Select the checkbox Don't send to unengaged contacts.

There are also actions which your subscribers can take which are considered impactful on this categorization. Try to encourage your subscribers to:

Add your company's from email address to their address book in Google

Manually drag and drop emails into the Primary tab

I'd also recommend getting familiar with all things email deliverability. @natsumimori has compiled a lot of good resources here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Email-Deliverability/Evergreen-contents-list-around-Marketing-Email... The better your sender reputation, the higher the likelihood that your email lands in the primary inbox.

Hope this helps!
