Custom Events on External Website

Hey all!

I was under the impression that with "custom events" we would be able to set up events on an external website using the chrome extension, however, I seem to keep getting the following error:

We have content hosted on the Vimeo OTT platform and would like to trigger custom events on certain button clicks/pages visited. Can this be done without a HubSpot script in the header? Does this have to be done on the custom events page within Hubspot instead of the Chrome extension?

Forgive my lack of understanding - we're new to Marketing Enterprise and still figuring it out!

Thanks

Hey @AJ_DrumFIT

Happy to jump in here! To confirm, if you're looking to use the HubSpot event Chrome extension, you do indeed need to have the HubSpot tracking code installed on the page where you're looking to use this extension.

Steps on how to use this tool can be found here in our knowledge-base.

I hope this helps!
