Restrict Access on Contacts On Lists That Can Be Emailed

SOLVE

You set up access on contacts so users can only view ones owned by their team, and if you make a list then you can only see the contacts owned by your team in that, but if you use that list in an email it will send to all the contacts on it, including the ones you don't have access to.

 

How can we restrict access on who can email which contacts so our teams aren't including the wrong people in our emails?

Hi @NBraden , 

So, instead of using a general list for email campaigns, you can create segmented lists based on ownership and other criteria. For example, create lists like "Team A Contacts" and "Team B Contacts."
Or, in your segmented lists, you can set up exclusion criteria to exclude any contacts that should not receive the email.

Thanks for the reply. Putting a filter on a list so it only pulls in a certain team's contacts would work, but I worry about how consistent the teams will be with it. We'd have to make sure every group of filters on every list has that criteria on it. Being able to send marketing emails to contacts you don't have access to just seems like a werid oversight.
