Personify integration

Our customer data is managed through Personify and we have an integration with HubSpot so that any changes that happen to a customer's record in Personify are synced with HubSpot. We are facing the problem that when a customer updates his/her email address in Personify and it syncs with HubSpot, the communication subscription types for that customer are basically reset. In other words, the subscription type preferences that were linked to the old email address aren't carried over with the new email address. 

 

We are trying to find a workaround so that customers who were opted in for a specific subscription type are opted in automatically if they change their email address. Could there be a workflow solution?

Thank you so much for reaching out! When an e-mail address on the contact record has been updated the subscriptions preferences will not carry over. The reason being is email subscription preferences are tied to an email address, rather than to contact. For example, if you delete a contact who opted out of email communication, a new contact created with the same email address will also be opted out.

 

You would not be able to use a workflow either to update this automatically. Contacts would be able to manage their email preferences using the links in the footer of your marketing emails. You can also send contacts a link to manage their own email preferences.
