Paste list of values into a property filter in Company View

SOLVE

I want to create a new company view using a copy/pasted list of values as a filter. Usually when I create a list, I can paste a list of values into a filter easily using a semi-colon in between each one.

But I don't want a list of contacts, I want a list of companies.

Is there anything (like a comma or dash) to make the values appear separately, rather than in one long useless string?

@Ruscoe - I created a video to help answer your question as part of my question of the day series.

Here it is: http://youtu.be/k9cE0tExqsI?hd=1

Currently, I wasn't able to find a way to complete your specific task in views for companies.

However, I think there is an alternative solution that could work in other property criteria or even a workflow to get the result you need.  If you send me more details on how the list of store ids came about and for what purpose they are used I may be able to further answer your question.

Paste list of values into a property filter in Company View

I found that if you separate the values with a semicolon, and no space it pasted into HubSpot the way you want it to.

For example, if I paste in 90061;90220;90221 they paste in as separate values.

This above solution works in active lists, but it doesn't work in filters at the company or contact search area. See below.

@rico1411has a new solution that will work if you are filtering companies or contacts:

Separate your values with "OR". You can use any text editor "find and replace" to format this quickly and easily.

For example: change "1001 1002" to "1001 OR 1002" and that will paste into the value box as separate values.

You can save a lot of time on formatting by asking ChatGPT to help out.

Here's the exact query that I used to go from 500+ values in Excel to a HubSpot filter in less than a minute:

Can you change the format of this list to semicolon-separated, without any spaces?

You can also use the "find and replace" feature in a basic text editor.

I searched multiple posts and couldn't find a good answer or one that truly worked. I was able to figure it out. instead of a special character use the word OR in between each entry. Good Luck!

Thanks! The semicolon didn't work for me but separating with " OR " worked perfectly.

UPDATE!

It seems that after filter updates in the HubSpot interface, "OR" no longer works, and you will have to use ";" instead

This is the real solution and it actually works!

That is Incorrect. You have to use OR, ";" does not work.

This works! Far better than semi colons which I find are hit or mis depending on the field.

Great find!

Hi all,

Thanks @rico1411 for this simple workaround.

However, when looking up dozens of companies, it means pasting their names into an Excel sheet to add " OR " in-between each name.

@hubspot please work on letting us paste multiple selections from Excel. Thanks!

I just ran into this exact same issue, if you make a CSV file, and just end each line with a ; instead of a , you can copy and paste no problem.

Thanks Sharon for bringing this additional tip to my attention! It still requires to tweak the original Excel file though.  But 2 workarounds are better than none (yet not as good as actually being able to paste straight into HS from Excel 😉 )
