New lead scoring tool issues with Professional Hub
SOLVE
Hi,
We now have to build the lead score in the new tool. I'm running into the issue that Professional Hub does not offer the same functionalities as the HubSpot Score property.
Additionally, there is a maximum of 100 points, whereas I previously worked with 150 and 300 points. It doesn’t make sense for everyone to reinvent the wheel, so my question is: Can someone share a new lead scoring model for the new Lead Scoring tool that is suitable for Professional Hub? 🙂
The challenges I'm facing with Professional Hub are:
1. tracking the number of page visits and opened marketing emails will no longer be possible. (frequency settings)
2. We can't use AND/OR logic, such as: "Less than 5 page visits AND more than 3 emails opened."
3. Maximum score is 100 points
The replacement lead scoring tool requires Enterprise for above essential functionalities.
This significantly limits lead scoring capabilities for Professional and makes HubSpot a less attractive platform.

Hi there,
You are correct that there are functionalities previously offered with the Lead Scoring Property option that are no longer possible with the new lead scoring model. While there are reason for that, it does not always meet the needs for everyone utilizing lead scoring models.
With that, you are not completely at a loss! But it does require a bit of a unique workaround to configure...
While you no longer have access to "Score properties", you still have access to "Number" properties. I'd recommend creating a number property for use in scoring.
Then, you can use workflows to add/subtract values from your contact's score property based on the criteria. Yes, this would require several workflows for all of the criteria you are trying to score, but its closer to the old model and would allow you to do the AND/OR logic.
Here is an example:
Let me know if you have any follow up questions on the above!

Regarding the 100 point maximum. I just ended up making one group and putting all of my criteria in the same group vs. messing around with separate groups and point maximums, etc.
Currently, I'm just using the time decay function of 20% every 3 months vs. time-bound settings. I played around with this quite a bit and went back and forth on it, but ultimately I decided this is probably going to be the best approach for us, at least for now.
Agree regarding the number of pageviews stuff--I'm a little bummed about that, too. I did read your post and the solution provided while I was working on my scoring, but I decided that the "juice isn't worth the squeeze" on this one. I just have it set up to give 1 point per page view (so, I'm just scoring all pageviews, but at a lower point value than I used to in the HS score). Then, I also added some "high value" pages where I'm scoring those a little higher than the rest.
