Need to create a list of contacts who submitted a form who fit a specific contact property

Hi! 

I run admissions for a program and use hubspot to review applications. My goal is to pull an active list of contacts who have a). submitted a specific form b). are from a specific state (this is a contact property on the form). Right now, everytime I pull the list, it says no contact matches the criteria (which isn't true). 

Is this type of list possible to pull on hubspot? Additionally, when you pull a list, is it possible to view form submissions from the list? or will I have to back to form submissions and view submissions there? Thanks so much for your guidance on this!

You should be able to pull that without issue. Are you giving the list time to populate when you save? Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the list to populate depending on the size of your database so the final count may not be instantly available? 

Also, when you say it is possible to view form submissions, is it possible in your example that the original data is overwritten? If so, you might need to consider setting up workflows to capture the submissions into static lists as the form submission data is only available within the form submissions area of hubspot (and API) so when you pull a list it looks at the current state of the property and that may not necessarily correspond with the data captured at the time of submission.

This is helpful, thank you! I am giving it time to populate, but it still returns 0. Do you have any other ideas on how to resolve the issue?

Anything deeper than that you I would have to look into your instance to see why you are not returning any results. Not sure what your options are to bring in outside help with your issue. If not, you may just want to reach out to Hubspot support to have them look into it as well.
