Need Help Stopping Autofill on HubSpot Form Fields

SOLVE

Hi HubSpot Community,

I’m facing an issue with one of my forms where users' browsers are auto-filling fields (such as First Name, Last Name, and Special Instructions) with data from previous form submissions. I’ve tried the following without success:

  1. Changing the field names directly in HubSpot.
  2. Clearing browser autofill data (including Chrome and Firefox).
  3. Adjusting field labels and placeholders to be more unique.
  4. Using the HubSpot embed code as-is without any customizations.

Despite these efforts, the autofill continues to populate fields, and it’s causing problems with the form submission.

Has anyone encountered this issue and found a reliable solution?

I’d appreciate any suggestions or insights on how to prevent browsers from autofilling these fields!

Thanks in advance!

Need Help Stopping Autofill on HubSpot Form Fields

SOLVE

Hi @BGardner9,

In the Options tab of the form editor, there is a setting "Always create contact for new email address". This stops all prepopulation. Enable it and you should see your desired behavior. Clearing cache and cookies again might be required.

I'm having the same issue, will try this solution, but we shoudn't be making sure we mark an option to avoid to have some random person data prepopulate on the form, thats some serious bug right there
