My workflow is not sending emails

Hi! I need help with my worflow, I put everything in place, a nurturing email campaign and put the triggers, my workflow said that more than 8.000 leads fit the criteria, but when I activated it when I check my history, it hasn't sent emails to any of those 8.000 contacts, why could that be?

I know when you activate a workflow there is an option to include contacts that meet the criteria that are in your database already, did you make sure you clicked that?  Otherwise it will just work for any contact that is added from now on.

As @LiveLu said you need to check the enroll existing contacts who meet criteria box. That's most likely the reason but something else to keep in mind, workflows have working hours. So if you set it for M-F 9-5 it won't take any action until the next business day at 9am.
