I just got the notification that I've almost reached the monthly limit of 2,000 marketing contacts. However, after checking the workflows and forms which set automatically contacts as marketing contacts, I've realised the amount of marketing contacts coming from those is far less than 2,000. Do you know where they might come from? And if yes, how do I stop it from marking contacts as marketing automatically?
By checking the marketing contact source type and marketing contact source name you will be able to determine what is making these other contacts marketing-contacts.
Quite often this is either an integration, imports or API calls.
If you haven't done so yet, I would also consider developing a framework and automation to remove contact's marketing status, e.g. when they have unsubscribed from all, have hard bounced, etc.
