I created a list and a filter that excludes all the contacts whose names contain "Russian", but the list still generates the contacts that contain this value.
Is the filtering done wrong? I would love your input.
@LangMagic yes, you can create lists and reuse them within other lists, either excluding or including them. When you add a new list filter, simply search the filter options for "List membership".
This makes especially sense if you're planning on using an exclusion in multiple places or repeatedly. You then don't have to recreate it every time.

Have you saved the filters and waited for the list to populate and finish?
Previews are often incorrect.
Also keep in mind that the AND in your filters means that both criteria must be met. Only contacts who have a specified first name and who at the same time meet the job title criteria will end up on the list.
If you want contacts with either matching names or a specific job title, add a filter using OR (one of the two must be true for a contact to enter the list).

I need both of these criteria. I created the list yesterday, and at first also thought that the preview might be inaccurate. But then I researched "Russian" in the made list, and it was still there.
@LangMagic okay, thanks for confirming. In the left sidebar of the list, you can click "Test contact". What do you see when you select one of the Russian contacts on the list?

@LangMagic correct, either that or build another list that contains all contacts where first name contains any of [...], then exclude contacts from that list in your main list.

So, let's say I create a list, called Red Names, with a filter that states to show all names that have "Red" in them.
Then, I create another list, but in filter creation, I want to take data from Red Names and use it as part of filtering in my new list. For example, create a list of all contacts excluding all contacts from "Red Names" list.
Because, if going back to my case, I need to create a list that doesn't contain multiple variables - "Russian", "Spanish" and so on. But, you recommended I create a separate list just to exclude "Russian". So if I do so, can I use this data to create a list with a bunch of different variables including "Russian"? My main goal is to have la ist excluding multiple variables one of them being "Russian".
