Is it possible to trigger a workflow based on a Deal contact and an account contact?

SOLVE

I currently have a new customer welcome email that triggers of a 

Deal (sfdc opp) being Won and enrolls the contact associated with the deal, to get the email.

 

Is it possible to also somehow send the email to anyone at that Account, that is associated with the deal, who has a Contact Role of "champion, admin, etc? Which is a value on the contact. 

 

I don't know if its possibly by modifying this workflow or creating a new one? Or it's not possible?

@KCowell1 yes, as I mentioned in my previous reply:

 


If you now want to limit this to certain roles, simply add another filter by clicking the AND below for the contact property that contains the role.

Click the AND in the enrollment criteria, click on Contact properties, find Contact Type and add it as a filter.

SOLVE

Hi @KCowell1,

 

It sounds like you're currently working in a contact based workflow. If you want the workflow to send emails based on an association to a won deal, that would automatically enroll all contacts associated to that deal, and you would simply have to narrow down enrolment criteria to your desired roles. If you're unsure about your configuration, please share a screenshot if your enrolment criteria and workflow actions.

 

Alternatively, if you create a deal-based workflow, you can send an automated email from there and this will either send to all contacts associated to the deal or specific association labels.

So it is set up as Deal based workflow currently. See image below.

It's sending to the contact associated to the deal but I want to also enroll contacts at the account associated with the deal, who have a certain Contact Type.  Sounds like I can do this by setting up association labels?

@KCowell1 thank you – so this is a contact-based workflow. It would not just enroll one contact, it would enroll all contacts associated to deals meeting the criteria you shared. If you now want to limit this to certain roles, simply add another filter by clicking the AND below for the contact property that contains the role.

Thank you for helping. Yes I want it to go to every contact associated with the deal but I also want it to go to contacts with a certain Contact Type at the account associated to the deal. Is that possible?
