How to wait for an action in a workflow?

SOLVE

Hello,

I am trying to do the following :

After a contact filled a form, he will receive an email (email0) asking him to click on a link. If he clicks on the link, he will receive an email (email1), but only if he did it in the week following. If after 7 days after receiving email0, he did not click on the link, then he will receive a different email (email2). How can I do this?

Thanks

How to wait for an action in a workflow?

SOLVE

Hi @Arisride,

In workflows, you can use the delay workflow action to delay until a marketing email link click. The delay type is "Event occurence":

Make sure to theck the box in the bottom left. That way, you'll get a green branch (this is the one the contact will go towards immediately once they click the link) and a red branch (which will delay up to the specified number of days until the actions in this path are executed).

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Thank you @karstenkoehler, this is exactly what I wanted.

However, it does not seem that I can specify which link in the email was clicked. When I do it through branches, I can check if a specific link in a specific email has been clicked.

How can I do it with your option?

Yes, but I was wondering if it worked the same way as with branches? In branches, you can directly select the link title (not the URL) in the email. I believe HubSpot uses tracked emails to follow the interaction, and I was not sure that specifying the URL would work because I am not sure that the URL/link sent by marketing emails through HubSpot is exactly identical in all the emails (for this specific tracking reason).

@Arisride you don't get the same options here, no, but you can specify the URL and I'd recommend testing this on yourself (enroll only your own contact) to see if it works in your scenario and conditions 🙂
