How to filter all contacts from the same company based on activity with one contact?

SOLVE

Hi,

We are using the SurveyMonkey integration to collect annual reports from our member companies. I would like to schedule reminder emails to the companies to motivate them submit their annual reports. However, I would like to filter out all the companies who have already filled in their reports. That means filtering out the individual who filled in the survey, and also everyone else who works at the same company. I can think of two ways to do this, but I can't figure out either of them.

  1. I can easily create a list of contacts who have completed the annual survey. Is there not a way to create a second group within that list to filter everyone who has the same company as the people in group 1?
  2. It would be ideal if the survey responses became linked to the member company's card, instead of the individual respondent's card. It seems like the SurveyMonkey/Hubspot integration doesn't allow this. However, maybe we can create a property for the company that says "Completed 2023 Reporting." We could set up a workflow that would update that property automatically when the member completes the annual survey, and then create an active list based on that company property. I could choose that list as the "do not send" list for my reminder emails. However, I don't know where the workflow would be placed, and I think the list would only include the MAIN contact email for each company, not the email addresses of everyone in that company.

If anyone knows how to make these options work, or if you have alternative workarounds, please let me know!

Hi @CLancelot,

No need for a workflow 🙂 This can be achieved with two, potentially three lists.

  1. Create a list of companies associated to contacts who submitted the survey
  2. Create a list of contacts associated to companies who are a member of the list in step 1

If you're not able to filter for the SurveyMonkey submission in the first list directly, you would need three lists:

  1. Create a list of contacts who submitted the survey
  2. Create a list of companies associated to contacts who are a member of the list in step 1
  3. Create a list of contacts associated to companies who are a member of the list in step 2

It feels a bit circular but this would be the fastest and leanest way to get you the list you need.

If you need detailed instructions on the creation of any of these lists, let me know.

Best regards!
