How to Automate Email Intent Handling in Nurture Workflow

Hi HubSpot Community,

 

I’m trying to create a workflow for an email nurture campaign. The challenge I’m facing is handling replies automatically based on their intent:

  • Positive Intent: If someone replies positively (e.g., "Interested" or "Tell me more"), the lead should be assigned to a sales rep for follow-up.
  • Negative Intent: If the reply is negative (e.g., "Not interested"), the contact should be automatically unenrolled from the workflow.

Is there a way in HubSpot to detect email intent automatically and route the replies accordingly? If not, are there any alternative approaches or integrations that can help?

How are you tracking the intent responses? 

 

If you're tracking them on a property, you should be able to branch your workflow based on whether they're a positive or negative responder. 

 

Maybe rather than a reply, have them click a button/link that indicates their response and branch from there? Or, create a property and update it based on their reply for branching logic?

Hi @Sgram! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here 😊

 

As far as I know, there is no automatic detection of intent with HubSpot emails. That said, you can filter emails based on keywords in the body, but you'd have to define those keywords yourself. 

I also found this idea with similar intent but with clicks: Counter triggers for emails to show buying intent 

This could maybe help brainstorm some alternative intent scoring options! 

I'd like to invite @Gaurav_Aggarwal to contribute any workarounds they have! Any advice for measuring intent in email replies?
