How do you create marketing contacts via submission forms / workflows

SOLVE

I'm trying to create a workflow in which when a form submission is filled out, and the contact opts into marketing communication via GDPR section, that the contact automactically becomes a marketing contact.

Hi @STidy 

 

Have you tried creating a contact workflow triggered off their email subscription type being opted in, like this:

And then setting them as a marketing contact based on the instructions here: Automatically set contacts as marketing using workflows

You can find different options for marking contacts as marketing contacts in this knowledgebase article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/set-contacts-as-marketing

 

It looks like you're on a Starter license (without workflow automation), so the best option would be the form settings. When you create a form, you can choose to automatically set contacts who submit the form as marketing by toggling on the Set contacts created as marketing contacts switch.

 

If you do have access to workflows, it could look like this:
