Help with understanding why my workflow is not working as intended.

SOLVE

Hi.

So i have created this workflow to make the process of creating contacts faster. As of now, you only have to type in name, last name and email. Everything else gets passed down from the associated company.

However, it seems that this info doesnt update automatically. For example if i make a company from MQL to Customer - it does not automatically update of the contact.

I have tried to enable re-enrollment but that doesnt seem to help.

Anyone knows what i have done wrong or what i should do in order for the info to update by itself.

TIA

@MKoed you'll have to design the workflow as a company-based workflow then. The company-based workflow would trigger when:

Number of associated contacts is known AND [first property to be copied is known]

OR

Number of associated contacts is known AND [second property to be copied is known]

OR

and so on

Enable re-enrollment for all of the above.

You would then use the 'Edit record' workflow action to copy the values to the associated contacts.

A contact-based workflow cannot be set up in a way that contacts re-enroll when company values change.

For some of these fields, you might also want to consider sync properties: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-sync-properties

It sounds like the workflow isn't triggering updates as expected when the company status changes. Since re-enrollment didn’t solve the issue, you might need to check if the workflow is set to trigger based on changes in the company properties. Also, ensure that the contact properties are set to sync with company updates. If possible, try using a separate automation to update contacts whenever a linked company changes status. Hope this helps! 🚀

I think so too. Lifecycle is not working as intended because of this:

Hi @MKoed,

Can you please share screenshots of the enrollment criteria please and of one of the workflow action settings? That details are not visible in your screenshot.

Please also describe how exactly you're testing this workflow.

Best regards

I have tested it, so when i create a contact - the info actually goes to the contact. its just a problem when i update the info.

So my new company workflow should have triggers looking  like this, correct?

Skærmbillede 2025-01-30 kl. 11.51.28.png

Also i should enable re-enrollment for them all.

What about the actions? should they be the same as in the first version of this flow?

@MKoed correct – for the action, please see my previous reply: You would then use the 'Edit record' workflow action to copy the values to the associated contacts. So yes, same action, but different configuration.

Thank you very much!

Its working now - there is only a few things not working but its due to some internal data faults.

The only thing is that lifecycles only can be moved up and now down - if that makes sense, but its fine.

Thank you once again for taking the time to help!
