Exclude people who are in a particular sequence

SOLVE

Is there a way to exclude people who are currently active in one specific sequence from an email or workflow? (assuming they are already in the sequence and didn't all exist in one list prior to being added to the sequence)

Hello @kaious,

As far as I know, we can only suppress contacts by Now in Sequence is equal to True (available as an active list filter) – but not by specific sequences.

Until HubSpot creates more options, you would either have to:

  • suppress all contacts who are currently in a sequence from your regular or automated emails or
  • use another identifier that all contacts in that particular sequence have in common (if there is any)

Hope this helps!

I tried using "Last Sequenece Enrolled" ID but when I condition "If Last Sequence ID equlas to <sequence id>" it adds commas to the number/sequence id i am entering and then it never finds this sequence ID. For example my sequence id is 75310602 but when i enter it in the condition of a workflow it is add as "75,310,602" and these numbers apperantely not equal.

😔 Everytime I think I'm starting to really like HubSpot, I seem to come across these small but fundamental flaws.

Hey Karsten,

I have this same question/problem, but this solution doesn't really work for me because:
I have different sequences going on simultaneously, and I want to filter and make a view of all the contacts I've enrolled in a SPECIFIC sequence and do some more filtering, and keep the view. There is no other common identifier I can use. I found it strange that there is no filter type that does this.

Any thoughts? Can you guys add this feature?

Thanks

Hi @oykusko,

You can use the contact property 'Last sequence enrolled' and 'Now in sequence' = True for that.

The sequence ID is the number that you see when you navigate to Menu > Automation > Sequences > Manage and click on a sequence. Your URL should look like this: https://app.hubspot.com/sequences/PORTAL_ID/sequence/SEQUENCE_ID/edit. From this URL, you can copy the sequence ID.

Best regards!
